GuestCentric establishes London office as central hub to European hotel market
UK office will drive faster European expansion
Fairfield, NJ – October 1, 2012. GuestCentric, the award-winning provider of integrated digital marketing solutions for hotels continues its worldwide expansion and announced today the launch of its London office in the United Kingdom. The London office is the fourth regional office for GuestCentric, which already has a strong presence in the US, a development site in Lisbon, Portugal and a sales and support office in Barcelona, Spain.
London is a large hub of travel business with many European travel companies headquartered in London. According to Euromonitor International, London has over 1,000 boutique hotels, is the 3rd largest tourism destination in the World and the largest in Europe with close to 15 million international arrivals in 2011. These tourists are increasingly sophisticated in their online behavior shopping and booking over the web, mobile, tablets and social networks.
While the London hotel market remains very healthy, price pressure is mounting due to OTA’s dominance with more than 50% of all online reservations. Now that the Olympics are over, hoteliers are looking for a more solid direct route to consumers, to increase direct online bookings and to differentiate and not only compete on price. As part of this strategy, hotels must publish their digital offers to as many online, mobile and social channels as possible.
“Recent studies performed by Google UK show that trends in web, mobile and social are global phenomena. For instance, 33% of last minute accommodation searches in the UK are now via mobile. Mobile has grown a staggering 411% year-over-year, so if your hotel is not doing mobile, you are losing last minute reservations.” said Jeremy Wrigley, Managing Director of the newly created GuestCentric Limited company. “I am excited to join the GuestCentric team and spearhead the office in London. I expect that our breakthrough approach to digital marketing will achieve significant market share in the UK in the coming year just like we have done in other regions.”
“The traditional model of going to a marketing agency and deploying cumbersome, expensive tools and paying huge service fees is dead. With GuestCentric, hotels can subscribe to innovative cloud services while being supported by a team of digital marketing experts. ”Said Pedro Colaco, GuestCentric’s CEO. “Our London office will lead the way in providing our easy-to-use, intelligent and cost-effective tools to help hotels fill the gaps they have in digital marketing.”
