A hotel booking engine should reflect all the rates that the hotel is able to sell online. These rates should include meal plans, especially for resorts, as many consumers are looking for specific meal plans when booking a getaway.

A meal plan is a plan that is added to a room rate for providing a room and meals to guests at a hotel. It is very important for travelers to select a meal plan after checking the room rate. Most of the time, travelers compare different room rates without looking at meal plan. Universally, there are four types of meal plan: Room only, Bed and Breakfast, Half-board (two meals a day) and Full board (three meals a day, sometimes also called American Plan).

Using GuestCentric’s dynamic packaging features hotels and resorts can now add meal plans to room rates, making it easy for guests to see the additional cost of each plan. With GuestCentric, meal plans are presented after the room rate so that if hotel managers wish to have different meal plans for different rate types you can do so.
