Your Monthly Green Tip: Save on HVAC
Reading Time: < 1 minuteWhen running the HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system at your hotel, make sure to avoid operating the heating and cooling systems simultaneously. This is a more common problem in hotels than you might think – and it could happen to you! A poorly configured or malfunctioning sensor can render chaos on your HVAC system.
What about target temperatures? Heating should be switched off at 21°C. Furthermore, service areas can probably be set to lower temperatures than those of guest-facing areas. For cooling, avoid using air conditioning until the temperature exceeds 23-24°C.
Consider implementing a building management system (BEMS), as these control and monitor HVAC systems and can help you reduce total energy costs by 10% or more.
