A Faster and More Dynamic Hotel Reservations Interface

Following the launch of our powerful Magnetic Rate Plans interface, hotels can now also experience Guestcentric’s new and improved Hotel Reservations area! Learn from our CTO Sérgio Serra why this dynamic interface reflects our continuous investigation into how hoteliers are using our Central Reservation System.

One of the main reasons why we made this development to our Reservations Area is because it’s the most used in the application. This drove us to dig a little deeper into how our clients were using the Guestcentric Central Reservation System.

Why did we develop the New Reservations Interface?

After noticing that users were predominantly using our Reservations Area, we went to see which specific operations were most commonly performed. We noticed three main tasks:

  • Get credit card numbers
  • Check guest notes
  • Mark reservations as read

With the redesign of our Hotel Reservations Area, all of these tasks are now much easier to perform. These tasks are accessible without opening the reservation and it’s possible to bulk the mark as read/unread operation.

Smarter Reservation Filters

Previously, filters were essentially limited to the menu options in the left pane. We narrowed down these menus to the most used ones so users can access those filters with a single click. We then added a series of filters that include:

  • Campaign codes
  • Channels

All these filters are dynamic, offering options to the user according to the context of their operation. It’s possible to filter by book date and check-in date. And the text search is more complete. It will search notes and also PMS reservation codes.

Real-Time Reservation Information Widgets

It’s important that our clients have access to good and concise information. For this reason, we decided to include a series of widgets on the left pane that not only provide information but also include calls to action to solve issues like failed PMS deliveries.

Overall, we rebuilt the entire backend so all of these operations are consistently fast, even with clients that generate a large reservation count.
