Is the Social Concierge the answer to hotel social marketing?

    There's absolutely nothing new here, other than a typical pug for social media. Where are all these 'social customers', my many clients have never spotted them. This is all typical idle social media speculation, the world is full of it, 90% of it is empty thinking or self fulfilling prophecy (hopefully) stuff. I'm sorry but the hotel MUST be in control of its own concierge, sepcially local - this can help it big time on channel shift efforts against the OTA's - we can't let joe public be involved in this, no way

    I guess you misunderstood the topic. We don't expect to have social networks will magically deal with concierge services. The point of the article is that by leveraging concierge services over social networks, a hotel will be able to attract consumers. This is a strategy followed by quite a few hotels with good success.
